Shark Steam Mop Review
Probably the most popular of all steam mops is the Shark Steam Mop. Who hasn’t seen the infomercial for this product promising an easy way to clean your wood, tile, and vinyl floors quickly and easily with just water? It almost seems too good to be true. Is it? Let’s examine some of the pros and cons consumers have reported in shark steam mop reviews.
Features Of Shark Steam Mop
First the good. Many have reported being happy with the purchase. Not only have they found the Shark Steam Mop to be lightweight and easy to use but they report getting great results from the product. It sure beats hauling a bucket of water and a mop around the house.
Another thing many like about Shark Steam Mop is that it only needs water to clean. No need for special cleaning products. Regular tap water can be used unless you have really hard tap water in which case they recommend using distilled or purified water.
As a parent, the fact that I can clean floors without chemicals is one of the things that drew me to the Shark Steam Mop. I hate the idea of cleaning my laminate floors with chemicals and then letting my little ones sit and play on it! The steam mop is certainly a more green way to approach house cleaning. Some of the problems consumers have reported with the Shark Steam Mop include the size of the water reservior tank and the cord. Although the tank is large enough to allow for about twenty minutes of mopping if you have a lot of floor to cover, you may have to refill it once or twice.
To recap here is a list of pros and cons of the Shark Steam Mop Review:
- Quick and Easy to Use
- No Chemicals Needed – Saves Money and Creates a Safer Environment in the House, especially for pets and children
- Lightweight which makes it easier than hauling a mop and bucket
- Some felt the 20 foot cord could have been longer
- Handle could stand to be a little sturdier
- May take a little time to learn the tricks to using it most effectively (wetting pads first, washing the pads frequently, etc.)
The cord not being long enough was another common complaint but is easily correctable by using an extension cord or simply plugging it in a different outlet as you move from room to room. Many vacuum cleaners have the same problem. Some consumers have also complained about the Shark Steam Mop being difficult to push while others have reported that they have gotten around this problem by first dampening the pad with water to allow for easier gliding.
Overall Review and Verdict
A final complaint some had was that the handle was a little on the flimsy side and could have been a little sturdier.Overall, when it comes to Shark Steam Mop Reviews, consumers seem to either love their Shark Steam Mop
or hate it. There seems to be little who fall in between. I did seem to come across more positive than negative reviews in my research.
